Digbeth First Friday: Late Night Exhibition Opening Friday, 6 February 2026

Come along for a 6-8pm late night opening of two current exhibitions at Eastside Projects in Digbeth, Birmingham – Compensare: For the Swallows We Weigh by Marley Starskey Butler and NAR MARRATU by Sarah Al-Sarraj. The bar will be open, and we’ll have samosas to snack on before you venture out to explore everything else that’s going on in Digbeth that evening.

This First Friday late night opening is your chance to see Marley’s exhibition about play therapy and building relationships, based on their observation over the course of a year of our work with families at Beacon Family Services!

WHAT ARE FIRST FRIDAYS?

In the art world, First Fridays are monthly, community-driven events, typically on the first Friday of the month, where galleries, studios, and museums open late, often for free, to showcase new exhibitions, host artist talks, and create a lively, social atmosphere. Originating as an urban revitalization movement to make art accessible, they function as cultural, social, and economic, to promote local artists and create inclusive community gatherings. With a Digbeth First Friday you can enjoy the exhibition then venture outto explore everything Digbeth has to offer…
