Beacon NeuroConnect helps children and their parents, carers and professionals develop and build strong connections and healthy relationships using play-based therapies and training so that they can feel safe and secure.

Beacon NeuroConnect are a not-for-profit, therapeutic family support agency founded by Catherine Eveness. Established in 2023, we are linked to Beacon Family Services who operate in the West Midlands.

We work directly with children and/or their parents, carers, and all professionals, including those who have no access to funding for support or training.

We provide evidence-based, relational services, such as therapeutic support or psychoeducation and training, to enhance relationships with a fundamental neuroaffirming approach. We are neurodivergent led, trauma informed and an inclusive organisation in our approach to supporting children, families and professionals' emotional and mental health needs.

At Beacon NeuroConnect, our focus is supporting families, and the organisations and professionals supporting them, impacted by neurodivergence and / or developmental trauma. We support families, organisations and professionals by:

offering expert therapy in a professional and neuroaffirming way so that children and their parents and carers feel safe;
helping families access therapeutic support so that all children can benefit from support with emotional wellbeing;
building partnerships with community organisations so that they can develop relationship-based approaches to supporting families;
helping parents develop confidence in safe and expertly supported therapeutic environments;
providing support and supervision opportunities to organisations who lack capacity and resources to be able to provide specialist neurodivergent informed therapeutic approaches and training.

We believe that families who may identify or be diagnosed as neurodivergent and / or have experienced adversity or trauma have the right to neuroaffirming, accepting and inclusive support. For parents who themselves have experienced adversity or who need support to advocate and care for their children, we hope to provide a sense of community.

This acceptance can be challenging for neurodivergent families to find in current public sector services due to systemic issues in terms of the restricted capacity for organisations to provide support tailored to individual families’ needs.

We hope to help organisations fill this gap in the services that can be offered to families and seek views from families about the services they need.

Due to Covid-19, we can offer our therapeutic services via online platforms to ensure families and children who may be struggling can be supported. As with our face-to-face sessions, our digitally delivered Tele-therapy sessions help support children’s and parent or caregiver’s emotional well-being, build resilience, reduce anxieties and help to create a sense of relational safety in these uncertain times.

Here's what people say about us.

“It is the only forum/group that has found a way to be inclusive during this lockdown period and to include worker’s children. We are all struggling to work from home and our children are curious about our work and what that actually looks like.”
