Families experiencing a life change, such as illness, divorce or bereavement
Fostering and adoptive families looking for support to develop new relationships

Families who would like to deepen their relationships and be a more connected parent

Due to Covid-19, we are currently offering our therapeutic services via online platforms to ensure families and children who may be struggling can be supported. As with our face-to-face sessions, our digitally delivered Tele-therapy sessions help support children’s and parent or caregiver’s emotional well-being, build resilience, reduce anxieties and help to create a sense of relational safety in these uncertain times.

Here’s what people say about us.

“My son (6) loved the session. As soon as we left the hall he said, ‘Thank you mummy for playing.’ School have already noticed that he is making more social interactions. He got onto GOLD (top of the zone board) and is getting the class merit in assembly tomorrow.”
Parent of child with diagnosed ASD

“After experiencing some very dark and difficult times we were introduced to Beacon Family Services. At first it was a leap of faith to understand the connection between the play therapy but after a few sessions we began to see some real progress. Now it provides us with a new and effective set of tools to deal with the difficult times which are now few and far between.”
Parent

“Our daughter got so much from Theraplay®. She loved Jules and the sessions and she is noticeably more confident. We have changed the way we are with her and as a family things are much better for us.”

“The families have been able to have special time with their children to connect and find magic moments. They have been able to access specialist support at a difficult time. This service has also created a support network for them. The families are all interested in continuing and would like to find out more about Theraplay.”
Parent attending a local Children’s Centre

“We have been trying to help with strategies for some time. In the group sessions we could really see how they work. If we could support parents who are struggling in the first few months of a new baby’s arrival with Theraplay we would see changes for families earlier.”
Staff member from local Children’s Centre

“Being with the families to integrate the skills has really helped. We want to extend the programme.”
